2022 Speakers

Meghan Cross | Partner at Amplifyher

Meghan has 14 years of asset management and operating experience in New York venture. Prior to Amplifyher, Meghan built Red Bear Angels, leading the firm’s investments into 25+ companies including Lyft [NASDAQ: LYFT], Datalogue [acq. Nike] and Trumid. Her angel investments include Sequioia-backed Maven Clinic, Urban Umbrella, and Privy [acq. Attentive]. She received her venture training from Foundation Capital and StarVest Partners.

A United Nations UN Week speaker, Meghan writes for TechCrunch and Forbes and lectures at Columbia University & Yeshiva University. She has appeared on The Today Show, CNN’s The Situation Room, Cheddar TV, and more to discuss millennial behavior and venture trends. She is a Board leader at the Lincoln Center Young Patrons and Facing History, an education nonprofit that furthers diversity and inclusion.

Meghan received her B.S. in Fiber Science from Cornell University and M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

Julian Roeoes | Partner Americas at Picus

Julian joined Picus Americas as a Partner in 2020 and manages Picus’s Americas operations out of the Picus office in New York. Prior to joining Picus, he worked for Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking and Capital Markets division in New York and London. At Credit Suisse Julian advised Financial Services and FinTech clients on M&A as well as private and public financing transactions. Prior to that, Julian gathered practical experience in Private Capital, Investing and Consulting and obtained an IHK Bankkaufmann degree. 

Julian graduated from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and General Management.

Sophie Liao | Partner at Oyster Ventures

Sophie is a three-time fund manager, having founded Oyster Ventures after honing her VC skills at Rothenberg Ventures where she was a Managing Director, and Draper Dragon where she was a Venture Partner. Prior to venture, Sophie managed Mergers and Acquisitions at Eight Solutions and FFD Labs, and launched her career in media by producing and anchoring at CCTV and Travel Channel, from which she was subsequently poached by Cameron Pace Group to lead Business Development.
