Big Red Ventures (BRV), Cornell’s early-stage venture capital fund, is excited to announce its investment in B Generous, a “Donate Now, Pay Later” fintech company serving the nonprofit sector, marking BRV’s third investment of 2022-23.
Founded in 2020 by serial entrepreneur Dominic Kalms, B Generous is on a mission to simplify and increase philanthropic giving through their “Donate Now, Pay Later” platform. This philanthropic credit product platform is designed for donating now and paying later, allowing non-profits to receive the full amount of the donation up front and the donor to get the full gross tax deduction upfront as well – enabling donors to finance charitable contributions to any non-profit organization and pay for it over time with interest-free payments.
“We are excited to work with B Generous on such a unique opportunity in the nonprofit space,” said Sarah Landes, BRV Fund Manager. “They’re tackling a serious problem for these organizations, helping them solve the time value of money issue while also engaging more potential donors with larger donation amounts on average. We can’t wait to see what they do next!”
Since 2020, B Generous has hit major milestones – surpassing 100 nonprofit partners, with over one million dollars approved credit for donors. They plan to use funds from this investment to continue to build out their team and iterate on product and features.
